Amritsar, June- 06, 2015:-- Today BlueStar's 31st anniversary was peaceful held with tight security although Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) supporters shouted slogans in support of Khalistan at Akal Takht. Led by former MP Dhyan Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) supporters gathered at the Golden Temple and waving swords with slogans of 'Khalistan Zindabad'.
Police said more than 25 Sikh youths were detained. Officials said to prevent any unwanted incident Punjab Police had arranged tight security. SGPC Task Force with the police, in plain dress was planted in the Golden Temple complex. Police said that in order to prevent breach of peace police prevented entry of any suspicious person into the Akal Takht Sahib Ji, officials had around heavy siege.
Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann did not came because of illness in Akal Takht. On this occasion, the family of the dead terrorist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale was honoured by Akal Takht Jatehdar Giani Gurbachan Singh. Radical Sikh group Dal Khalsa has called for Bandh here in the memory of those killed during the O
peration in June 1984 in Punjab.
