Rain gives relief in some parts of Punjab and Haryana

Chandigarh, May- 31, 2015:-- Panchkula and Chandigarh  a high of 40.2 Degrees Celsius, three to four degrees higher than the past few days. But rain giving relief to people from sizzling temperatures, Sunday was a relatively cooler day in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, thanks to rain in some areas and a generally cloudy sky.

Ambala and Karnal in Haryana recorded highs of 41.3 and 42 degrees Celsius. Ambala was six degrees lower than average.

In Chandigarh, the maximum temperature was 43.2 degrees, six degrees below average.
Weather officials said that thunderstorms and partly cloudy sky were likely to occur at some places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 48 hours.
